Teaching

German as a Foreign Language takes centre stage.

I teach on the ‘German Studies: Language, Literature and Translation’ degree programme (Licence Études Allemandes) at the Faculté des Lettres et des Sciences Humaines Aïn Chock, Université Hassan II Casablanca.

Teaching profile

Language, culture and academic work.

The programme focuses on teaching German as a foreign language: language skills, grammar and academic work are combined with cultural studies and intercultural perspectives.

My regular courses include German grammar as a foreign language, cultural studies and intercultural communication, research methodology, and translation. My cultural studies seminars also cover topics relating to Islamic ethics and education, such as questions of knowledge, virtue and upbringing in the classical Islamic tradition and how these have been received in Europe.

In addition, I supervise degree theses, including those in the field of German as a foreign language.
